I have in recent years purchased from ARS the following: On October 2009, Carrier GAS Furnace [Model 58CVA110-1-20] and on June 2012, Carrier Air Conditioner [Model 24ANB636A003]. Both units have been checked based on requirements and request, however air quality problems still exist. Starting with the furnace, a problem has been experienced from day 1 - the unit continues to smell of chemicals when on. It causes burning of the eyes, occasional headaches , coughing resulting in choking. In an effort to find some type of relief, during the day, I have opened a window. However, during the night, I am not able to open a window due to security concerns and the additional odors produced by my neighbors’ use of their heaters and/or fireplaces which adds to my discomfort . As for the A/C, first year installed - great!!! The cooling period this year, I noticed the air has a smell similar to sewage or something rotten / foul with no quick fix. During the cooling season it doesn't make sense to open windows and efforts to use ceiling fans, did not help. I will be scheduling my winter maintenance sometime in Nov 2013, I wanted to share my continued issue / problems with the ARS experts to further discuss towards a resolution by the time the scheduled work is completed. In additional my thermostat is displaying “sensor” error - what is this? Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
