Air conditioning running constantly

I’m having a problem with my air conditioning running constantly. What could it be? Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot this issue?

Run time does increase as outside temperatures go higher, and it is normal for your air conditioner to run a lot when it’s constantly hot outdoors. However, if it runs continuously even in milder weather, you should definitely have it checked out. There are many issues that can cause this kind of performance problem. From a homeowner standpoint, you should check to make sure you have clean air filters and that your outdoor condenser coil is clear of debris and dirt. Beyond that, I would recommend that you contact a professional HVAC contractor, such as the ARS/Rescue Rooter branch in Houston, TX at (713/281/832) 777-7777, to evaluate your air conditioning system’s operation and to determine why your system has started running all of the time.
