I have an electric central unit and have recently turned on the heat. I find that it is heating up very efficiently but, when the outside fan and compressor go off, the air handler that is in the attic continues running for quite a while before it goes off. Is this normal?
There is usually a time delay that holds the blower on after shutdown. If it turns off within two or three minutes of the outdoor unit turning off, then it is most likely the normal time delay that happens upon cycling off. If it is much longer than that, contact a professional HVAC contractor, like Universal Heating & Air Conditioning in Norcross, GA at (770) 908-8488, to take a look at your central heating unit.
