My sink was clogged and nothing seemed to work so I finally bought an auger. We put it in the sink and it seemed like it unclogged because the water is not coming back up but now the auger is stuck and we can’t get it out! We have pulled it so hard and nothing...we would push in and pull out and we got a good part of it out but now there’s a good amount of it in. It just won’t come out and the auger has even stretched a lot! How can I get it out??
The auger is designed for use in clearing toilet stoppages. It is definitely not designed to unclog a sink drain. However, now that it is stuck and you have tried twisting and pulling it to get it loose, the only option left is to get into the wall and take apart the plumbing to allow you to retrieve the auger. This job may require the assistance of a professional plumbing contractor. I suggest you contact one of our Rescue Rooter locations in Los Angeles, such as the Rescue Rooter LA Riverside branch at (800) 859-5945.
