• Blower won't cut off

    Oct.22.2009

When my thermostat cuts off while it is on the “Heat” setting, the blower still blows hot air and won’t cut off. The air works fine.

Make sure the fan switch is not set to the “on” position. It should be set to “auto.” Typically you will get warm air for a few minutes after the system satisfies the thermostat demand. If you continue to get “hot” air, a service call is necessary. Among the possible causes of this problem are a bad outside fuse, a malfunctioning thermostat, or a shorted wire or stuck relay on the furnace.
