What could cause carpet and baseboards to be wet on a cement slab? The AC unit pipe line on the outside of house is not dripping any more.
Your problem would be typical of a water pipe leaking in the slab (a slab leak). This happens when the water pipes running under the slab foundation of the house develops a leak. The water from that leak would cause the carpet and baseboards to be wet. There is a pressure test a plumbing professional can do to pinpoint where the leak is located. You can also check for the presence of a leak yourself. Make sure you are not using any water (not the washing machine, dishwasher, sprinklers, bathrooms or anything). Look at your water meter. If it continues to move, you have a leak somewhere. Even a very small pinhole leak will move the dial on the water meter. I suggest you contact a professional plumbing contractor, such as the ARS/Rescue Rooter branch in Durham, NC at (919) 493-1407, to help you locate and correct the leak before it causes any further water damage.
