We had a clogged drain in our bathroom sink. We ended up with a crack in the pipe. We had planned on fixing that this afternoon. Our washing machine is just on the other side of the wall. We could always hear our washer draining or gurgling through that pipe. We discovered that our shower was full today after our washer drained. This is the first time this has happened. Any suggestions?
The main line pipe that the washing machine, bathroom sink & shower are all flowing into is the problem. You should still fix the crack in the pipe for the sink and washing machine, but you need to call a plumber to cable out the main line. If it continues to be a problem you can have the plumber run a camera in the main line to see what the problem is. He will most likely have to pull your toilet to get his cable and camera into the main line. I suggest you contact a professional plumbing contractor, such as the ARS/Rescue Rooter branch in Lafayette, IN at (765) 447-7661.
