There is a constant ringing noise that sounds as if it is coming from a heating/air vent. This is the only location in my house where I hear the noise. What could be causing this?
If the noise is coming from the return vent you may be getting the noise that is being pulled through the grill. Sometimes if you flip the grill over you can correct this. First, you may want to try opening up the louvers a little to allow less face velocity (the velocity of air at that point). If neither of these options get rid of the noise, I suggest you contact a professional HVAC contractor, such as the ARS/Rescue Rooter branch in Raleigh, NC at (919) 865-7777, to help you troubleshoot this issue.
