• Crawl space flood seepage and HVAC problems

    Nov.12.2009

I am concerned about my HVAC system. The drain pipe leaks, and the air conditioning unit doesn't cool my bedroom enough. The unit is in the middle of my home in the crawl space and it is partially supported by cinder blocks. We recently had a flood, and seepage into the basement through the cinder blocks caused some mud. Can you help?

Water and HVAC equipment do not mix. Your crawl space needs to be checked out. It is possible that installation of a sump pump with battery back up would help. Sump pumps are designed for use where there are persistent flooding issues. I suggest you contact a professional HVAC contractor, such as Universal Heating & Air Conditioning at (770) 908-8488, to inspect your air conditioning unit to determine whether it is up to code and operational.
