• Does my heater need to be replaced?

    Dec.1.2008

The blower in our heating unit is not working properly. We checked the thermostat and it is not that. Can you tell me what the problem is, I hope it does not need to be replaced. Thanks.

There are several different issues that could be causing the blower on your furnace to malfunction. It could be the thermostat itself, a capacitor on the motor, a faulty wire, the circuit board in the indoor unit or the actual blower. Unfortunately I cannot take a guess at what the problem is with your furnace without inspecting the unit. I would suggest that you have a qualified technician check the system to determine what the problem is, and if it needs to be replaced.
