• Filter or no filter

    Jan.27.2010

ARS installed and brand new Carrier System in my house in Sep 2009. The new system does not require filters in the ceiling like the legacy system needed. That being said the Thermostat is communicating that I need to change the filters? Is there a filter that I was not communicated about? Do I disregard?

While your system may not have a filter in the ceiling, I believe that it is very likely that you do have a filter and that it is located in your attic close to your furnace. Although sometimes a thermostat display will indicate that it is time to change your filter even if there is no filter on the system, I don’t think that is the case in your situation. It is possible to reset the filter timer, but I think your best choice is to contact the ARS/Rescue Rooter branch in Houston, TX at (213/713) 777-7777. One of our professional HVAC technicians will be more than happy to come out and diagnose why the thermostat is telling you to change the filter on a system that was installed so recently.
