I have a Comfortmaker Heating System. Unfortunately, I can't locate the maintenance information for it. I need to replace the filter and am uncertain if it is the washable kind? Can you help please? It measures 16 1/2 x 20 1/2 from edge to edge. Thanks!
If the filter on your heating system is washable, there should be a label on it to that effect. In general, washable filters are made of a fiberglass type of material and may have a metal frame. A throw away filter will have a cardboard frame. I suggest you contact a professional HVAC contractor, such as ARS/Rescue Rooter of Laurel, MD at (301) 927-7100, for a complete system check, which will include an assessment of the types of energy efficient filters your system could use.
