We have a new furnace that we bought from a wholesaler and had our contractor put in when we remodeled our house. It is an electric furnace and it will not shut off. It just continues to run even after we turn the thermostat to off. We have to walk over to the furnace and shut it off manually. The furnace is not even three years old. What could be our problem?
When an electric furnace will not shut off and continually runs even when the thermostat is turned to “off,” you are most likely experiencing an installation error (wiring problem). The first thing to do is to have your contractor return and check out the installation. If you do not get satisfaction, I suggest you get a second opinion from a reputable HVAC contractor, like the ARS/Rescue Rooter Indiana branch in Indianapolis, IN at (317) 390-5555.
