My heater will blow hot air fine until it runs too long then it's only cold air. It only happens when it's really cold outside and the heater has to run more to keep up.
Many times a problem will only show up when a heating system is under a load, since it runs frequently and for a long time per cycle. This can be caused by any number of problems, the most simple and consumer friendly being a dirty or restrictive air filter. If the air filter is good, then I recommend having a qualified service technician look at the system and perform a diagnosis. Any heating system should be checked and cleaned annually for proper, safe and efficient operation per the manufacturer and prevailing fuel gas codes. I suggest you contact ARS/Rescue Rooter of Dallas, TX at (214/972) 503-8000 to check it out and perhaps set up one of our Home Service Plans for seasonal tune-ups and preventive maintenance.
