If my air conditioner has been set on 70 degrees since yesterday and it is 81 degrees in my house 24 hours later, what do you think the problem is, and what is a ball park figure that you can give me to have it checked/fixed?
There are so many things that can cause this to happen and there really isn’t any way to give you a specific answer without looking at the air conditioning system. A dirty air filter, and/or a dirty outside unit could contribute to this. After you look at those two things, a service technician will need to evaluate and diagnose the system operation and problem. I suggest you contact a professional HVAC contractor, like the ARS/Rescue Rooter branch in Durham, NC at (919) 493-1407, for information regarding scheduling a system diagnosis which will provide you with options and costs to address the issue. It is very important to have your air conditioning checked out and tuned up each season. You may want to consider one of ARS/Rescue Rooter’s Home Service Plans.
