• How bad is my leaky faucet?

    Sep.24.2008

My buddy was over and pointed out that my kitchen faucet leaks a little. Nothing steady, maybe a drop every couple minutes. I don’t think it’s a big deal, but he swears I’m wasting a ton of water and money. What do you think?

Faucets are designed not to leak. If the faucet at your kitchen sink is leaking at all, it will only get worse over time and needs to be repaired or replaced. Leaky faucets with a steady drip (a drop or more per second) can waste more than 3,000 gallons of water a year. Plus, avoiding your leaky sink repair can create other problems, such as permanent sink discoloration and/or surface erosion This can result in the need for it to be refinished or even replaced. I suggest you take care of your leaky kitchen sink soon. Your utility bill will thank you, and you should thank your friend.
