The power was shut off to my home for repairs and when it was turned back on the electric water heater (new) will not heat the water. I checked the breakers and they seem to be fine. Any idea what the problem is?
Some electric water heaters have a reset button in the upper and lower electrical panel. You may need to call a licensed plumber or electrician to reset the buttons. If you have power to the water heater itself but it just will not heat the water, then it could be the thermostat (which also should have a reset button). If you are not familiar with the mechanics of your new electric water heater, I recommend having a professional check out the system to reset the buttons.
