Here is a quote from your website. It seems inaccurate to me. What do you so called experts think? "A dual-source heat pump combines a standard air-source heat pump with a geothermal heat pump. These appliances combine the best of both systems. Dual-source heat pumps have higher efficiency ratings than air-source units, but are not as efficient as geothermal units. The main advantage of dual-source systems is that they cost much less to install than a single geothermal unit, and work almost as well."

This statement is accurate regarding the Dual-Source Heat Pump. This system is differentiated from the standard geothermal unit that was also referenced on our webpage just above the information about the dual-source heat pump. The dual-source heat pump is a combination air source and geothermal that requires less ground loop than traditional geothermal systems.

This statement of expectations comes from the manufacturer of the system. An evaluation of your heating/cooling needs and of your local climate will help you determine which type of system would be best for you. I suggest you contact a professional HVAC contractor, such as the ARS/Rescue Rooter branch in Manassas, VA at (888) 242-4ARS, for additional information.
