• Just replaced thermostat but still have problems

    Oct.31.2011

We have an air conditioner (18 years old) and just replaced our thermostat. The setting is on 74 degrees, the room temp will be on 70 and the air conditioner will still be running. We have also replaced the filter. Now what should we do?

Your air conditioning unit is probably continuing to run even when the thermostat is not calling for it. You may experience this issue when the main compressor contactor sticks in the “on” position. A qualified HVAC technician, like the ARS/Rescue Rooter in Indianapolis, IN at 888-762-7752, can diagnose the actual cause of you system fault.
