We have a brand new Rudd air conditioning unit that was installed last February. This weekend we experienced a "snow storm" of a substance that resembles paint chips coming from our ceiling registers. Our HVAC contractor reports a milky substance in the drip pan. Any ideas about what this could be and what is causing it? Our contractor wondered if we had been doing any drywall work or sanding, but this is not the case. HELP!
I would recommend that you have your ductwork checked, including your return air. This problem could be caused by many things, but it sounds like to me that there is some sort of infiltration into the duct or return air system. Please contact a professional HVAC contractor to take a look at your air conditioning system and ductwork to get to the bottom of your problem. Professional services such as ARS/Rescue Rooter will use a HEPA VAC machine designed specifically for duct cleaning.
