My air conditioner has quit blowing in two of the rooms in my house. Air still blows in all the other rooms but there seems to be moisture in those vents out of which the air is blowing. I had the coil cleaned last year and everything still seems to be pretty clean, what could be causing this problem?
When your air conditioning system is working but air no longer comes out of some of the vents, you could have a break in the duct work. The hot air from the attic mixing with the cold air causes the dew points to change and could be your problem. A faulty capacitor fails to drive the blower motor to the proper RPM (revolutions per minute) to produce the correct CFM (cubic foot per minute of airflow) required for your system is another possibility. If this happens, the temperature of the coil will be lowered causing lower discharge air temperatures. As a result, the face of the grills will condensate due to colder air temperatures and lower CFM. I suggest you contact a professional HVAC contractor, such as ARS/Rescue Rooter.
