I have a two story patio home with 2.5 baths. When the master bath toilet is flushed there is a loud reverberating noise throughout the house (sounds like a tuning fork). It only happens when that one toilet is flushed (not the other two). Why is this happening?
Before you call anyone, you may want to try this first. When the master bath toilet it is humming, take the lid off the back of the toilet and pull up on the float, then push it down. The float is the hollow "balloon" that floats on top of the water when the tank if full. If that stops the humming then you most likely will need to replace the fill valve. They often vibrate when they get old, and the sound can get quite loud. Of course if you are not comfortable with making such repairs on your own, then a qualified plumbing company like ARS/Rescue Rooter will be able to help you out as well. I hope this helps.
