My AC unit keeps shutting itself off. I have had an electrician come out and he found nothing. I would also like to note that I have two different units. There is one brand on the outside connected to another brand. Could this be the problem?
The electrician is probably right when he said there was no problem electrically with your units. The electrical feed to the units can be working correctly, but a problem within the outdoor section or the indoor section, or even the thermostat, can cause the AC to turn off. The fact that the units are mismatched in manufacturers from inside to outside is not necessarily a problem. It is very common to find two different makes. What this indicates is that one part of the system was replaced and the other portion was still serviceable and was reused. A problem like this requires a HVAC service technician to diagnose. I suggest you contact a professional HVAC contractor like the ARS/Rescue Rooter branch in Memphis, TN, Conway Services, at 901-384-3511.
