My gas heating unit does not seem to be getting the signal from the electronic to send the gas into the ignition area. Also, when the fan and cooling systems are on, there is a solid red LED on the panel. However, when the heat is turned on at the thermostat, the LED blinks two times off, two times off, two times off, and I do not get any gas sent through. Can you please help me?
Most manufacturers have their own fault codes that result in a LED blinking. It sounds like your furnace is calling for heat. If you look on the door of the furnace, you should find a fault code chart that will help you determine why that light is on. You can visually check the gas shut off and the gas valve to see if they are in the “on” position. Whatever is keeping the gas valve from operating properly could be related to a safety issue. I suggest contacting a professional HVAC contractor, such as the ARS/Rescue Rooter branch in Raleigh, NC at (919) 865-7777, to identify the problem.
