• No hot or cold water

Last week the water from the bathroom sink was running slowly. Now all of a sudden there is no hot or cold water running from the faucets in the bathroom. Please advise.

If the bathroom faucet is the only fixture in the house that is affected and you still have good (or normal) water pressure in the rest of your home, the problem is caused by one of three things. 1.) The faucet needs to be rebuilt or, in most cases, it is more cost effective to just replace the faucet. 2.) It could be that your angle stops need replacing. 3.) You may have a small obstruction in the aerator located on the end of the faucet. If it’s an obstruction, unscrewing the aerator and cleaning the screen of debris should restore the flow. To assist in diagnosing your problem, you can check your water pressure to the faucet by disconnecting the supply lines to the faucet from the shut off valves under the sink (angle stops). If there is good water pressure, it may be necessary to change out the faucet; if there is slow or no water pressure, you can change out the angle stops. If you have minimal flow and continued problems, I suggest you contact a professional plumbing contractor, such as the ARS/Rescue Rooter branch in Columbia, SC at (803) 754-0600, to take a look at your faucet.
