My heat pump system won't get any higher than 58 degrees. I had a similar problem to this about 8 years ago. And the service tech said something needed to be adjusted. They fixed it then. But it seems to be doing the same thing again. Is there something I can do?
It would be a good idea to look at your thermostat and see if you have a mercury type thermostat. If you do, there is a heat anticipator that controls the cycle rate. This may be set to low and could be short cycling the equipment. The heat anticipator is located in front of the mercury bulbs. If you have a digital thermostat, disregard this suggestion.
