• Old mobile home with water heater problem

    Dec.12.2010

I have an old trailer with attached lanai with a hot water heater that runs on electric AND propane. Pilot light/gas line access is in the lanai. I was advised to 'vent' this somehow prior to lighting. How would that be done, and approximately how much should it cost? Hot water heater is located in the middle of combined square feet, trailer plus lanai.

When installing a new water heater, it is very important to have it vented properly. There are several ways to achieve the venting installation requirements. Your hot water heater location in the mobile home and lanai presents a unique challenge. It would be difficult to give you an accurate estimate without first looking at your specific situation. Also, remember that, with any water heater, regular maintenance is important. You can call your local ARS/Rescue Rooter in Ft. Myers, FL at (239) 561-0433 for a no cost estimate and for more information about water heater care, repair, and maintenance.
