The pan under my air conditioning unit is filling with water and flooding. We cleaned out the drainpipe and tons of water came out and we thought we had fixed the problem. Within 30 minutes it was overflowing again. Any ideas?
A service technician would need to determine what the problem is. There are many causes of water from an AC unit not draining properly. It could be that a drain line is not sloped properly or perhaps the drain line doesn’t have a sufficient P-trap. A cleanout tee may be open and sucking in air before the P-trap, or there may be a crack in the drain pan. This problem can also be caused by debris inside the air conditioning drain pan. I suggest you contact a professional HVAC contractor, such as ARS/Rescue Rooter, to diagnose the problem.
