Every time it rains we get backup in the basement from the sewer. We have lived in this house eight years and it only started happening this year. I have had one side of the house rodded from the grease trap to the sewer with no problems. I believe something else is going on. Can you give me some ideas?
The very best way to evaluate sewer backup is by using video sewer inspection which involves putting a special camera down the line so you can see inside. This type of problem can be relatively minor or very serious. Thankfully, digging up all your pipes, a costly and messy alternative, is generally no longer necessary. The flexible fiber optic video camera not only gives your plumber a view of the inside of your pipes but will also record what’s going on. You and your technician can review the video and make an informed decision about the best way to correct the problem. I suggest you contact a professional plumbing contractor, such as the ARS/Rescue Rooter branch in Itasca, IL at (630) 438-6900, to arrange for an inspection.
