Is there any reason to cover up the air conditioning unit during the winter months? I have been using a tarp but I’m not sure this is necessary.
It is not necessary to cover an air conditioning unit in the winter months. If you prefer to cover yours, cover only the top third of the unit so that it has a chance for better air circulation. You will keep the leaves out and the weather from entering the inside. If you cover the entire unit, moisture will become trapped inside and cause the unit to rust.
