• Temperature fails to adjust

    Jan.8.2010

It seems that i cannot get my house within 4 hours from 69 degrees to 70 degrees. What can be wrong?

The answer to this question depends on whether you have a heat pump or gas heat. You may want to check the air filter, and make sure all the heat vents are completely open. If you have a heat pump, determine whether the outdoor unit is running as well as the indoor unit. If you have a gas furnace, I would check the temperature at the supply of the furnace minus the temperature at the return of the furnace (most likely near where the filter is located). You should have a temperature difference between 35 to 70 degrees. Usually there is a canvas connection at the top of the furnace in which you could stick a thermometer. The safest choice is to contact a professional HVAC contractor, such as ARS/Rescue Rooter in Dallas, TX at (800) 869-6922, to check that the equipment is operating properly and also to check the energy efficiency.
