The weather got cooler so I turned the thermostat off and opened my window over night. When I woke up the next morning, I heard the central air conditioning unit still on in my attic, and it seemed like the air was being sucked through my filter like it was still on. Can you tell me why?
If you turned the thermostat off, your central air conditioning unit should be off. I think what you may be getting is a wind tunnel effect through your ductwork. Circulation of air through your home sometimes pulls through the ducts and moves the blower, usually on windy days. I would shut off the air conditioning vents in every room and this should fix the problem.
