• Total basement plumbing renovation

    Apr.26.2011

I have an old home and my basement needs a total plumbing works renovation for all the lines in the house. I have sump pumps that I need to remove totally from the house and then redo the whole basement like modern. I need to have an idea of the work I need to do and how much it will cost.

Following are some things you’ll want to take into consideration. Develop a plan which includes what you want the finished project to look like. Schedule a licensed plumbing contractor to perform a thorough evaluation of your entire plumbing system. If you plan on adding fixtures and/or features to your existing plumbing system (such as large spa type showers with body sprays, large jetted tubs, tankless water heater, etc.), you’ll want to be certain that the current water, gas and drainage systems are sized properly to handled the additional fixtures. Determine a budget and time frame for your renovation. Determine what part of the work you plan on doing yourself. Final thought: If your existing sump pump system is not working, it will need to be repaired or replaced, but I highly recommend consulting a licensed plumbing contractor before removing it completely. (I assume there is a reason the sump pumps were installed to begin with.) Without seeing your home and knowing exactly what your plans are, providing a detailed answer is challenging but this will help you get started in the right direction. Contact a reputable plumbing contractor, like the ARS/Rescue Rooter branch in Olivette, MO at (314) 770-1620, for assistance with this situation.
