• Very little air coming through vents

    Nov.28.2011

We were told by a professional that our six year old central air conditioner needed a new circulation fan motor because it blew a fuse and the motor quit. My husband replaced the motor himself. After replacing the motor, the unit comes on but there is very little air coming through the vents. We also replaced the compressor outside and the thermostat inside. Why is it not cooling?

Of course, a complete check up of your unit will provide the necessary information to tell why your system is not blowing properly. Changing a blower motor is not as easy as it may seem since there are several dip switches that need to be adjusted according to manufacturer specifications to ensure proper airflow. I suggest that you have a qualified technician, such as ARS/Rescue Rooter, schedule an appointment to determine if everything was installed properly. I also suggest you make sure your heating system is in peak running condition, with a seasonal tune-up, before cold temperatures become the norm.
