Why am I getting warm water from my cold water tap?
This is a problem that can be caused several different ways. 1.) The cold water tap could be too close to the hot water heater. Sometimes the hot water will back up into the cold water line when the hot water heater is heating up; this will then cause hot water to come out of the cold water side of a faucet. 2.) The faucet cartridge has failed and is allowing hot water to pass over to the cold side. 3.) A nearby shower valve has failed and is allowing hot water to pass over into the cold piping. 4.) Somehow the hot and cold water supply lines to the faucet got crossed over. All of these issues are no problem for a professional plumber to fix. I suggest you contact a professional plumbing contractor, such as the ARS/Rescue Rooter branch in San Diego, CA at (800) 968-7758.
