• Water pressure issues

    Apr.5.2010

Currently I’m having an issue in my spare bathroom. The problem that I am having is that the shower/tub fixture when turned to cold has great water pressure, but when switched over to hot it goes to a slow drip with no water pressure. I’ve checked all other faucets and bathrooms and the pressure is perfect in those, so it is centralized to that specific shower/tub fixture. What could the problem possibly be?

I’m not sure what type of shower valve you have but, regardless of the type of valve, the hot water port of the valve needs to be examined. The valve can sometimes be cleaned or rebuilt and that will take care of the problem. In some rare cases the whole valve needs to be replaced, obviously a much more costly repair. To fix this problem, the water to the entire house has to be shut off. This job can be very technical so I would advise contacting a professional plumbing contractor, such as the ARS/Rescue Rooter branch in Las Vegas, NV at (702) 262-2222, to assist you with this problem.
