I believe we have a huge pipe leak. We walked into the bathroom and could hear water running behind the walls and underneath our modular home. What could this be and how much could this cost? We had to shut off the main water line at the end of our road. What do we do now? Due to the snow could this be a frozen pipe that has burst or just a busted pipe? Help!!
It sounds like one of your pipes in the wall and/or under your modular home developed a leak. This may have resulted from your pipes freezing or just old pipe. The quick fix is to open up the wall and/or go under your home and fix the leak. The cost for this fix will depend on how difficult it is to get to the leak. You may also want to consider re-piping the entire home if the pipes are looking bad and if it looks like this problem could happen again in another spot. Insulation and recalculating pumps are two good ways to keep pipes from freezing. I would also look at putting a water shut off valve near you home. Then if you ever need to shut off your main water supply again, you wouldn’t have to go to the end of the road. The best way to get an accurate quote is to contact a professional plumbing contractor such as the ARS/Rescue Rooter branch in Durham, NC at (919) 493-1407.
