There are several different types and brands of water heaters available on the market, and when selecting a water heater for your home, it is important to select one that is fits both your home comfort needs and your budget. For instance, what kind of water heater do you currently have (gas, electric, etc) or would you want to consider going to a tankless water heater. Tankless hot water heaters only heat water on demand, thus giving you an endless supply of hot water. They are more energy efficient and can save you money on your energy costs according to energystar.gov. As extra incentive, you can now claim up to $1,500 in tax credits with the purchase and installation of tankless hot water heaters in 2009. This was signed into law last month as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.So keep in mind that a new water heater is not just an expense, it is an investment in your home and comfort. I recommend you research potential manufacturers before making your final decision.
