The fuel tank has never been empty and there is no air in the fuel line. A2Va 7116 fuel pump will not bleed the way it is suppose to. The burner will not work as there is no fuel oil going into the burner. Any ideas?
The type of system you are referring to is a fuel oil heating system which is similar to a natural gas and propane furnace. There are several items in fuel oil systems that can cause this problem. One of the most basic is lack of regular maintenance, which should include changing the fuel oil filter. If the filter hasn’t been changed in a long time, I have seen them get clogged to the point where it will not allow flow at all. If you have already checked this and the fuel oil filter is in good condition, then I would suggest that you have a qualified technician inspect your system.
